Old Resident Dies Today
Mrs. Lucy Bassett, a resident of Baraboo since 1878, passed away peacefully at noon today after a lingering illness.
Mrs. Bassett, nee Helen Lucy Turner, was born at Palmyra, Wisconsin, Aug. 30, 1856. Her early childhood was spent in Missouri and Ohio. Later the family returned to Palmyra and in 1878 moved to Baraboo.
On Dec. 14, 1880, she was united in marriage with William P. Bassett, who preceded her in death thirteen years ago.
To this union were born four sons, Arthur K., William T., Hollis P. and Charles E. of Baraboo, and two daughters, Mrs. Lucy Eitel, of Waukesha, and Mrs. Bevelyn Holmes with whom she made her home.
She also leaves one Brother, A.H. Turner, of Milwaukee, ten grandchildren, and one great-grandchild, besides many more distant relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday afternoon at two o?clock at the Presbyterian Church. Interment in the Walnut Hill cemetery.

Last Rites For Mrs. Bassett
Funeral services for Mrs. Lucy Bassett of Baraboo were held Sunday afternoon at two o?clock at the Presbyterian church. A short prayer service was held at the home of her daughter, Mrs. George Holmes. Rev. E.C. Henke officiated. Stanford Richardson sang several solos acoompanied at the organ by Mrs. A. Ch. Reisz.
The bearers were D.S. Welch, Albert Wichern, Warren and ZBert Bellows, Albert Lehman, and T.A. Marquardt.
Interment was in the Walnut Hill cemetery.
Among those who came from a distance to attend the funeral services were: Mr. and Mrs. J.J. Morrisy of Milwaukee, Mr. and Mrs. John Eitel and son Dean, Mr. and Mrs. William Goodman, and Mr. and Mrs. Dell Bundy of Waukesha.
