  Notes	Richmond Times Dispatch April 23, 1907 Bassett-Peters Fredericksburg, Virginia, April 22 - Gilbert Bassett and Miss Dora Peters, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W.J. Peters, both of Mathews County, were married Thursday at the Methodist parsonage in that county, Rev. T.P. Duke officiating. The Mathews Journal Wednesday, April 18, 1907 Bassett-Peters Miss Dora Peters and Mr. Gilbert Bassett were quietly married at the Methodist parsonage, on April 2, 1907, at 8 o'clock p.m. Rev. T.P. Duke, pastor of this circuit, solemnized the marriage. The bride wore a gray military suit, hat and gloves to match, and the groom wore the conventional black. They were followered by many friends and relatives. After they were happily joined together, he returned to his home with the bride, where a delightful supper was served. They both received a great many handsome and useful presents. The groom was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bassett and the bride was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.B. Peters.
