  Notes	Daily Press, 29 Mar 2008 Dorothy Smith Bassett Hampton – Dorothy Smith Bassett, 84, died Friday, March 28, 2008. Born in New York City, she had been a Hampton resident since 1959. Mrs. Bassett had served in the USAF and also worked as a waitress at the Langley Air Force Base Officers Club. Mrs. Bassett was preceded in death by her husband, Lorin E. Bassett, and son, Stephan C. Bassett. She is survived by her daughter, Karen L. Manchester; sons, Robert W. Bassett and Richard W. Bassett; brothers, Robert W. Smith; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A memorial service will be conducted at 6 p.m. Sunday, March 30, at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home. The family will receive friends following the service.
