Nola Gail Bass Garroutte
Gail Garroutte, age 69, of Muskogee, Oklahoma was born on September 21, 1940 in Muskogee, to Calvin Wilson and Georgie Lou (Barrette) Bass. She passed this life on March 1, 2010 at Muskogee Regional Medical Center in Muskogee. Gail lived in the Muskogee area most of her life and graduated from Central High School. On August 18, 1961 Gail was married to Robert Levan Garroutte and they shared 45 wonderful years together before Robert went to be with the Lord on April 14, 2007. Gail loved God whole heartedly and was a faithful servant and a member of Abiding Life Fellowship. As a daughter in Christ she was faithful and true. She always greeted her church family with a smile and was a very giving person. She enjoyed cleaning the church, running errands for people and going to nursing homes after church to read Gods word to the people. She loved to help people and never asked for anything in return. Gail was always accountable, dependable, loyal and honest to her many family and friends. She enjoyed her life, playing cards, collecting bells and having a good laugh. She will be truly missed by all that knew and loved her. Gail was preceded in death by; father and mother, Calvin and Georgie Bass. Her husband, Robert Lavan Garroutte. One sister, Charlotte Bass. Two brothers, Gary and Fredrick Bass. She is survived by; Two brothers, Kenneth E. Bass of Vinita, Oklahoma and Donnie Bass of Alabama. Two sisters; Charlene Sue Moore of Braggs, Oklahoma and Yovenne Bass of Alabama. Brother-in-law Leon Garroutte of Austin, Texas. Numerous other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, March 4, 2010 at Abiding Life Fellowship Church in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Pallbearers for the service will be Steve Kelley, Daniel Williams, B.B. Cox, Eldon Blackwell, Jesse Kincade and Kevin Bass. Honorary Pallbearers, Howell and Gary Coltharp. Reverend Denver Callahan and Reverend Kevin Bass Officiating. Funeral Services and arrangements are under the direction of Shipman's Muskogee Cremation and Funeral Service, 1325 North York, Muskogee, Oklahoma.
