Ruby Rickard will officiate. Burial will be in Lone Star Cemetery in Muhlenberg County. Mr. Bass died at 1:49 a.m. Saturday at Muhlenberg Community Hospital in Greenville. A native of Muhlenberg County, Mr. Bass was employed at Phelps Dodge in Hopkinsville and was a member of Lone Star Baptist Church in Muhlenberg County. His parents were John Henry Bass and Carless Ebling Bass. Surviving are his wife, Mary Bell Grace Bass; three sons, James Dale Bass of Oak Grove, Marvin Douglas Bass of Fairview and Thomas Ray Bass of Crofton; one daughter, Kathie June Grassham of Paducah; one brother, Eugene Bass of Christian County; one sister, Myrtle Marie Davis of Nortonville; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Friends may call at the funeral home after 8 a.m. today.
