      Mrs. Bassett Died At Home Of Daughter

      Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Bassett, 84, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Gilmore, 716 Elizabeth Street, yesterday afternoon at 12:30, following a week’s illness.
      Mrs. Bassett was born in Cardinal, Ont., Dec, 15, 1852, the daughter of the late Nathaniel and Mahalah Burns Todd and had spent the greater part of her life in this city. Her husband, Edgar M. Bassett, died 20 years ago. She was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church.
      Surviving besides her daughter, with whom she resided, are two brothers, Colin and Kenneth Todd, Cardinal; Mrs. Adrian Finn, a daughter, of Lacona; two sons, Edgar M. and Harry C. Bassett of Rochester; two grandchildren, Harry Bassett, Jr., and Shirley Bassett, both of Rochester.
      Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Gilmore residence in Elizabeth Street, Rev. Theophilus Wells, pastor of Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be at Ogdensburg Cemetery.
      Mrs. Bassett was a highly esteemed resident and her passing will bring deep regret to her many friends.

      Mrs. John N. Gilmore, 716 Elizabeth St., Ogdensburg, N.Y., Jan. 9, 1950, surviving her death are her husband; one sister Mrs. A.D. Finn, Lacona, two brothers, Edgar M. Bassett and Harry C. Bassett, both of Rochester; and several nieces and nephews. Services from her late home Thursday at 2 p.m., Rev. Clyde V. Sparling, pastor of the First Methodist Church, officiating. Body will be placed in the receiving vault in Ogdensburg Cemetery, pending burial there in the spring. Arrangements by the Nichol’s Funeral Service.
