  Notes	The Dandenong Journal, Victoria, Australia, Wednesday 7 Nov 1951 Former Railwayman Passes On At 88 A Well-known railwayman in the days when there were gates on the Cranbourne and Frankston Rd. railway crossings, Mr. John Bassett passed away at his home, 13 Kirkham Rd., Dandenong, on Oct 29th, at the grand age of 88. His wife predeceased him about three years ago, but four sons (Tom, John, Allan and Garnet), and four daughters, (Tottie, Lizzie, Olive and Rita) mourn the passing of a devoted father who had many life-long friends in this community. After a service by the Rev. M.J. Clarke at his late home on Tuesday deceased?s remains were privately interred in the Dandenong cemetery on Oct. 30th. W.J. Garner & Son had charge of the funeral arrangements.
