  Notes	Plattsburgh Press-Republican, Saturday, July 24, 1993 Lyle L. Bassett MALONE – Lyle L. Bassett, 74, died at the Alice Hyde Hospital Thursday, July 22, 1993. He was born in Duane Sept. 6, 1918, the son of Ira H. and Calla (Wilson) Bassett. Mr. Bassett served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was honorably discharged. For 21 years Mr. Bassett was employed at General Motors, Massena, and retired in 1981. He previously had been employed at Alcoa, The Seaway Construction project, Tru-stitch, and was a logger. He was a member of Malone Post VFW. Survivors include two sons, James of Malone and Robert of North Bangor; three daughters, Faye Greenwood of Brushton, Sharon Brown of Greece, N.Y., and Mrs. David (Sheila) Williams of Westville; a companion of many years, Viola Jarvis; a brother, Elemer Bassett of North Creek; a sister Sabra Eaton of Malone; 10 grandchildren; a great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be at the Spaulding Funeral Home today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel Sunday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. David White officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Dickinson.
