Died at Medical College of Virginia Hospital Wednesday, May 7, 1980, Mr. James Bassette, Sr., aged 63, of 1306 Chambers St. He is survived by his devoted wife, Mrs. Carrie E. Bassette; four sons, James R. Bassette II, Harold L. Bassette, Willie L. Bassette, and Herbert R. Bassette; one stepson, Booker T. Weddington, Jr.; seven grandchildren; on devoted granddaughter, Mrs. Georgie A. Mason; two greatgrandsons; and other relatives and friends. Mr. Bassette was a retired employee of Philip Morris after 38 years of faithful service. Remains rest at the Oris P. Jones Funeral Home, Lawrenceville, Va. where services will be held Sunday at 2 P.M.
