Notes - Letter written from Samuel W. Bassett to Neelie M. Pe
Wheatland, 2 Aug 1881
Dear daughter,
Mr. Reuben Bromley did not pay the bill that you sent to me a
asked Harve Chase if the debt could be collected and he said that Bromley had
put all of his property into his wifes hands and I asked Mrs. Bromley if she
meant to pay the debt and she said that she did mean to pay it as soon as she
could. She gave her Note for $6.10 payable on or before the 2 days of August
1882 and she wanted you to write her a letter. We are all as well as we have
been. George has gone to Minnesota. The Wheat Crop is very poor in many
places. In June it was very dry. In July very wet. I receive a letter from you
Uncle James T. Bassett. He says he and his Sons are building houses and that
Aunt Fanny Stones will is decided.
Yours, Samuel W. Bassett
