She attended schools in Cabot. In 1940, she married Kenneth Bassett, who died in 1974. They farmed in Marshfield and she cooked at Goddard College and operated Iona's Pizza Shop in Plainfield. She attended Grace United Methodist Church in Plainfield. Survivors include three daughters, Carolyn Sayers, Geraldine Gilman and Greta Sayers; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a brother; a sister; nieces and nephews.
