Death of Mrs. Bassett
Mrs. Eliza Anna Bassett died on Sunday, March 1st, after an illness of
some little time at the advanced age of 78 years.
Deceased was born in Oneida county, New York on the 26th of October,
1829 and was married to Alrarz J. Bassett on the 26th of March, 1847. She came
to Wisconsin with her husband in July, 1847 and settled in Rock county. Later,
during the year 1854 they moved to Adams county and moved to Wood county in
the fall of 1866, and had lived there continuously ever sinc
Three children were born to them, two daughters and a son. Her husband
died Dec. 17, 1899, and both daughters have gone on before.
Since her husband's death Mrs. Bassett has made her home with her son,
Ira A. Bassett of this city, where she was residing at the time of her death.
The funeral was held on Tuesday from the Methodist church, Rev. Evans
conducting the services.
