Bassett, which occurred a week ago last Wednesday - Mr. Bassett was an old resident having come to Batavia in 1842. He was for some twenty years Supt. of Bridges and Buildings on the C.& N.W. Ry. He was beloved and esteemed by all who knew him, his funeral which took place last Saturday was largely attended.
