From "History of Harrison County, Iowa", National Publishing Company,
(1891) we have "Linus Bassett came early in the '50s from New York. He settled
on section 31-81-44. After seventeen years he sold to A.H. Gleason and now
lives in Little Sioux village. His son, L.H. Bassett, came in after the close
of the war."
