Ira N. Bassett
Died?May 27th, at his residence in the town of Stockbridge, Calumet County, Mr. Ira N. Bassett, aged fifty four years, six months and twenty four days. In the removal, by death, of Mr. Bassett we all feel as neighbors and citizens that we are heavily stricken. The deceased was one of our oldest residents with a reputation honest, straight forward, industrious and obliging as a neighbor; kind and affectionate as a husband and parent; and although not a member of any religious denomination yet we are glad to record as a tribute to his memory that he was a praying man and lived regarding the moral principles of Christianity as of the greatest necessity to the present and future well being of humanity.
May the God of all Grace and consolation comfort the bereaved widow and family in this their hour of domestic affliction.
