  Notes	Family letter written in 1928 Francis and John Bassett, sons of Ebenezer, are thought to be twins. They married in NY and journeyed west with rest of the Bassett Company for Polo Ogle Co. Ill 1836; the time the Wamsley's came. These two brothers became tired of the journey and stopped at Batavia near Coldwater, Mich where Francis d. 1837. His children were small. Several years later a stone was put on his grave, the inscription reads d. Aug 24 1837, aged 44 yrs 3 mo and 24 da., making his birth May 1, 1793. Martin F. and Stephen Bassett former Polo men, were Francis sons. Francis was the first person buried in the cemetery in Batavia. His wife is buried next to him. From EPB, "Earliest record of Andes, N.Y. M.E. Church is a church lease dated 1820 drawn by Francis B. From Andes he went to Kortwright, Del. Co. N.Y., from there to Batavia, Branch Co. Mich. where he settled on Sect. 35. His wife & 7 children came with him. His twin brother John had moved there the previous fall to Sect 34. Francis died the year after he came no descendants in town but 2 sons & 1 daughter in Coldwater, same County."
