  Notes	Joseph served in the Revolutionary War. He moved to Brattleboro, Vermont. He was a farmer. Around 1787?, he moved to Stephensville, Ohio. He moved from Ohio to Indiana in 1820 and settled near Vevay where he died of dropsy. He was a Revolutionary War Soldier. He served in Massachusetts. He applied 13 Apr 1821 in Switzerland County, Indiana, aged 62 with wife Mary aged about 45 with children; Ebenezer 24, Polly 11 & Ard 7. My grandfather, Daniel Bassett was born in Taunton, Mass., May 5th 1786 and was married in Plymouth, Vt. Dec. 13, 1807 to Ruhamah Brown, who was born Jan. 17, 1784 in Lunenburgh, Mass. My great grandfather was Joseph Bassett and t Christian name of his wife was Lydia. This Joseph is said to have go Indiana early in this century and settled there. I believe that ex-president Harrison's family inter-married the Bassetts in Indiana. My grandfather, Daniel Bassett had three brothers, Carmi, Pedasha, Aruna, and two sisters, namely, Abi and Addis. One of these brothers settled in Ohio a great many years ago. One of his sisters married a Barrett. Carmi Bassett never married, and died in Troy, N.Y.
