Marion E. Bassett
Marion E. Bassett passed away Saturday, February 24, 1996, at home, after a long illness. Born in Mount Vernon, NY, on September 13, 1906, she noved to the Ft. Lauderdael area in 1941. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Rex Earl Bassett Jr., a Ft. Lauderdale business man, who died in 1987. She is survived by her daughter, Marianne (Del) Hendrickson of Lighthouse Point; 3 grandchildren, Susan Harrell, Ft. Lauderdale, Duke Hendrickson, Santa Monica, CA, and Melissa (Randy) McCormick, Deerfield Beach; 2 great-grandchildren, Landon Alexander of Ft. Lauderdale and Nyssa Rene of Santa Monica. She was a long time member of Broward General Medical Center Auxiliary; Daughters of the American Revolution, and Landmarks Historical Preservation Society of Brewster, NY. Friends may call from 6-8 PM, Wednesday, February 28, 1996 at Fairchild Funeral Home, 299 N. Federal Hwy, Ft. Lauderdale. Services will be held at First Christian Church of Wilton Manors, 2725 N.E. 14th Ave., Wilton manors, on Thursday, February 29, 1996 at 11:30 am, with entombement following at Forest Lawn Central Mausoleum. Donations will be welcome by Hospice Care of Broward County, Inc., 309 SE 18th St. Ft. Lauderdale 33316.
