Evelyn G. (Crass) Bassett
Evelyn G. Bassett, 82, of Cedar Point, died Tuesday afternoon at St. Margaret’s Hospital in Spring Valley.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Church in Granville, with the Rev. Patrick DeMeulemeester, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Tonica. Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Prey-Mueller Funeral Home in Oglesby, with Liturgical prayers at 4 p.m.
She was born on March 24, 1928, in Tomahawk, Wis., to Louis and Gertrude Crass. She married Francis Coleman Bassett on July 16, 1949, in Tomahawk. He died August 9, 1997. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Granville.
She is survived by one daughter, LeAnn (Scott) Lambert, of Peru; one daughter-in-law, Mary Ellen Bassett, of rural Oglesby; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; three brothers, James (Lorraine) Crass of Irma, Wis., Roger (Marge) Crass, of Slinger, Wis. and Lonny (Bev) Crass of Rhinelander, Wis.; one sister, Virginia Ahles, of Harshaw, Wis.
She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Francis, Jr.; one sister and one brother.
Memorials may be directed to Sacred Heart Church.
