Maurine Bassett Dies
DELPHI ? Maurine Bassett, 82, formerly of South Wabash St., Delphi, died Tuesday at 11:25 p.m. at the Delphi Nursing Home, where she had been a resident for two years.
She was born Nov. 11, 1897, to Ira Howard and Esther Stoke Smith. She was married March 1, 1920, to Frederick W. Bassett, who preceded her in death June 8, 1958.
She was a housewife and a former co-owner with her husband of the Bassett and Talbert Service Station, Delphi. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, a Red Cross hospital volunteer, and attended the Presbyterian Church, Delphi.
She is survived by three nieces, Helen Talbert and Florence Cope, Delphi; and Esther Vaughan, N.M.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home, Delphi. Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
