Through a deal closed last week Fred Bassett has sold his one-half interest in the Bassett & Talbert gasoline service station and Firestone store in Delphi to Harold Talbert, brother of Wayne Talbert, the other owner of the firm. Mr. Bassett is a former resident of Monticello having operated a tire store in the corner of the Old Commercial block before it was remodeled.

Frederick Bassett, Delphi, Succumbs
DELPHI ? Frederick W. Bassett, 64, of South Wabash street, died of a heart attack at 11 p.m. Sunday in Tower, Minn., where he was spending his vacation.
A native of Illinois, he was the former owner of Bassett?s service station in Delphi and before that had operated a service station in Monticello.
He was a veteran of World War I, a member of the Presbyterian church,, Delphi I.O.O.F, American Legion, and the 40 and 8.
Surviving are the wife, Maureen, whom he married in 1918; and a brother, Frank, of Hazelhurst, Wisc.
The body is being returned to the Elkenberry funeral home. Rites are pending.

Fred Bassett Services At Delphi on Thursday
DELPHI ? Final rites for Fred Bassett, will be Thursday at two o?clock at the Elkenberry funeral home. The Reverend James Rankin will officiate and burial will be in the Masonic cemetery. The American Legion will conduct graveside services.
Friends may call at the funeral home after noon today.
