Engagement of Sorority Girl Announced at Luncheon in Los Angeles
STANFORD UNIVERSITY, July 18 – The engagement of Miss Maude Helene Bassett. a Stanford sorority girl, to Latham McDougal, a graduate with the class of 1911, was announced yesterday at a luncheon given by members of the Gama Phi Beta sorority at the Jonathan club In Los Angeles. The wedding is to take place in San Francisco on August17. The engagement is the culmination of a romance begun when the two were freshmen on the campus. Miss Bassett Is the daughter of Dr. B. S. Bassett of Los Angeles, and a member of the Gama Phi Beta sorority. McDougal. who resides at Belmont, is a member of the Chi Psi fraternity, and graduated In engineering. They will reside in Los Angeles.
