Bassett, Raymond O., of Atlantic City, died peacefully in his home Friday evening. He attended several technical schools in the Army Air Force including Wrights Aircraft Engine factory in Paterson. After the war, he restored many antiques such as antique autos, old player pianos and other intricate musical instruments. Surviving is his wife, Polly Bassett of Atlantic City; his daughters: Marade Bassett of Nashville, Tennessee, and Betty Overlook of York, Maine; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at the Atlantic County Veterans Cemetery, Route NO. 50, Estell Manor, at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, June 4, 2003. Contributions may be made to the American Legion of Northfield Post NO. 295, 232 Mill Road, Northfield, NJ 08225. Arrangements by Adams-Perfect Funeral Home, Northfield.<\/p>\n

\nPauline \u201cPolly\u201d Bassett<\/p>\n
Pauline (Polly) Bassett \u2013 of Cape May, died peacefully April 9, 2008. She follows her husband in death Ray Bassett. Polly was born in Holden, Massachusetts and moved to Cape May County in 1952. She was curator of several museums starting with the antique auto museum in Princeton, Mass. She was a restoration expert and as having extensive knowledge in antiques which later led her to the Old Village Farm Museum in Rio Grande. Her talents were further utilized at Uncle Dick\u2019s museum of Skullville. Wheaton Glass Museum sought out Polly\u2019s amazing talents and hired her as curator and director of Wheaton Village. She also gave lectures on \u201c100 years of pressed glass.\u201d Polly would often participate in antique car competition. Polly and Ray won the Ford trophy in the 1950 Glidden tour in which they drove a vintage 1903 Ford. Polly leaves two daughters, Marade Bassett of Nashville, TN. Betty Overlock of Brewer, Maine, one brother Bobby Mirick of Holden, Mass. Four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren.
