Thomas<br \/>\nWilmer Wilson Bassett (b. 1885) and wife Ruby Henry Burt<br \/>\nRay Simpson Bassett (b. 1925)<\/p>\n<p>Panama City News-Herald, Florida, Tuesday, 12 February 1952<br \/>\nGulf Coast Dairy<br \/>\nRay Bassett Remains Manager of Plant<\/p>\n<p>Bassett Dairies, Inc., of Tallahassee, along with the company\u2019s two distribution branches, Gulf Coast Dairies Inc., of Panama City and Spring Valley Dairies, Inc., at Crestview, have been purchased by The Borden Company.<\/p>\n<p>Announcement was made last night by Curry J. Bassett, general manager of the dairy firm, who said the transactions is effective immediately.<\/p>\n<p>The Tallahassee operations will be known as Borden\u2019s Bassett Dairies, while the ones in Panama City and Crestview will be known as Boarden\u2019s Dairy. No figures were released as to the purchase price.<\/p>\n<p>The sale brings together two names in the dairy food field well known to resident of this area. The Bassett firm has been distributing milk in Tallahassee and vicinity for 31 years. Borden grocery and cheese products have been available in grocery stored throughout this section of Florida for many years.<\/p>\n<p>In his announcement Bassett emphasized that the change in ownership will not affect the d airy plant\u2019s operations or products, and that all of its employees will remain in their present positions.<\/p>\n<p>Curry J. Bassett, Secretary-treasurer and general manager of Bassett Dairies, Inc., will remain in charge of the Tallahassee operation. Ray S.
