Cremation rites have been accorded. Private burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens. \u00a0Memorials may be made to Homewood Evangelical Free Church.<\/p>\n<p>Thomas was born on June 22, 1951, in Moline, the son of Gladys (Murk) and Gene Bassett. He married Phyllis Schorr on August 13, 1988, in Huntington Station, New York. She preceded him in death on April 6, 2024. Thomas graduated from Moody Bible Institute in Chicago. After school, he was a minister and missionary for 27 years in France with his wife Phyllis. He enjoyed spending his time gardening and collecting rocks.
