Does anyone know who he might be referring to? This might give us information on and early ancestors of this Bassett line.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Western Mail, Saturday 13 February 1926<br \/>\nMarried 50 Years<br \/>\nMr. and Mrs. David Bassett of Llanelly<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Mrs. and Mrs. David Bassett of 30 Gilbert-place, Llanelly, celebrate their golden wedding today (Saturday), and as descendants of families who have been associated for generations with the old tin plate town they are likely to receive many congratulations from old friends and acquaintances. Mr. Bassett is in his 71<sup>st<\/sup> year and Mrs. Bassett will be 69 years of age in August. Of seven children born to them five are living, the oldest being Miss Jeannie Bassett, a member of the scholastic profession at Llanelly, and how has won prizes at Welch National Eisteddfadau for needlework. Their eldest son, Mr. J. Bassett, of Cardiff, has served nearly a quarter of a century on the editorial staff of the Western Mail. The other three sons are Mr. David Bassett, assistant schoolmaster at Barry; Mr. Llewellyn Bassett, of Murray-street, Llanelly, who, while serving with the Royal Engineers during the European War, was several times wounded and wrote some stirring war stories for the Wester Mail; and Mr. Richard Bassett, manager of the Star Supply Stores at Swansea.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. and Mrs. Bassett have four grandchildren.
