This tomb is found in the church located there. Next door to the church is the old Basset residence, now in ruins. This is possibly the most remarkable Basset family history item I have ever seen.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bassettbranches.org\/newsblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/Llantrithyd.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1665\" src=\"http:\/\/www.bassettbranches.org\/newsblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/Llantrithyd.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"480\" height=\"551\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bassettbranches.org\/newsblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/Llantrithyd.jpg 480w, https:\/\/www.bassettbranches.org\/newsblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/02\/Llantrithyd-261x300.jpg 261w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Altar Tomb in Llantrithyd Church: \u201cHere lyeth the bodyes of John Bassett Esquier and Elizabeth his wife daughter to Andrew Norton of Bristow Esquier, who had issue by Elizabeth his wife an only daughter named Elizabeth married to Anthony Mansel Esquier, second sonne to Reece Mansel of Margam Knight, all whose four bodyes are here intombed. Which Anthony had issue by the sayd Elizabeth three sonnes fower daughters of all which two daughters survive.
