Wilma Katherine (nee McLachlan) Bassett
Wilma Katherine (nee McLachlan), November 22, 1918 - April 3, 2006. Peacefully
at rest after a brave confrontation with cancer. She leaves us to be with her
beloved husband Art, predeceased October 2005. She is survived by her loving
family: 2 sons, Robert Patterson (Carol) of Delta, B.C. and Donald Patterson
(Debbie) of Vancouver, B.C., 2 daughters: Diane Schuss (Bill) of Sidney, B.C.
and Shirley Stevenson (Jim) of Delta, B.C., step son Bob Bassett (Barb) of
Westbank, B.C., step daughter Arlene Pope (Jim) of Richmond, B.C., 10
grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, many extended family and friends. Wilma
and Art returned to B.C. after retiring from careers with the Santa Barbara
Cancer Foundation in California and they settled in Westbank in 1997. Wilma
was active in her Strata Board of Directors, a volunteer at the Cancer Centre,
Westside Seniors Assoc., Red Hat Society. Wilma was known to many for h
compassionate heart, sunny disposition and warm good will. In lieu of flowers
and cards - donations to a charity of your choice. Cremation and inform
celebration of her life to be held at a later date.
