Kathryn G. Bass
Kathryn G. Bass, 80, of New Buffalo passed away peacefully at home Saturday, March 21, 2015. Arrangements have been entrusted to Sommerfeld Chapel, New Buffalo.
Kathryn was born to Willi and Greta (Schmidt) Kuchel on Feb. 1, 1935, in La Porte, Ind. On Aug. 13, 1954, she married Homer Burton Bass Jr. Kathryn enjoyed her family, gardening, NASCAR and her breakfast roundtable, where she made many friends. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hospice at Home or a local animal shelter.
Kathryn is survived by her loving children: Chris (Gary) Ripley of New Buffalo; Vicki Mohn of Coloma; Mari Bailey of Portage, Ind.; Tami (Ronald) Webb of New Buffalo; and Alan (Fawn) Bass of Berrien Springs; grandchildren: Randal (Joann) Ripley, Kimberly (Joel Giannetti) Ramsey, Nicki Moore, Brandon (Michelle) Moore, Ray (Christina Bailey) Chapman, Lisa Domras and Darron Webb; great-grandchildren: Elizabeth Ramsey, Hunter and Sophia Giannetti, Grace Ripley, Allison Moore and Aiden Webb; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends, Gail and Janette. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willi and Greta; her husband, Homer; a brother, Gordon; and a son-in-law, Jesse Bailey.
A celebration of Kathryn's life will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 27, at Sommerfeld Chapel, 15 N. Barton St., New Buffalo, with Pastor James Bouslog officiating. A time of visitation with the family will precede the service from 10-11 a.m. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, New Buffalo.
