Istvan ?Stephen? Kozma
GILL - Istvan ""Stephen"" Kozma, 77, of Main Rd., Gill, Ma. died Thursday morning (10-9-2014) at Buckley HealthCare Center, Greenfield, Ma. surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Tet, Hungary on October 16, 1936, the son of Istvan and Terez (Tomaskovicz) Kozma. He immigrated to the United States in 1956. He was married on July 5, 1958 to the former Marita Bassett. He was employed for over 50 years at Esleck Paper in Turners Falls, retiring in 2007. He was an avid Red Sox fan, and gardener. He loved woodworking, and Hungarian cooking. His first love was always his family, especially his children and grand and great-grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years Marita, and his children: Stephen of Bernardston, Ma., David of Gill, Ma., Teresa Young and her husband Dennis of W. Chesterfield, N.H., Lynda Kozma of Greenfield, Ma. and Barbara Kozma of Northfield, Ma. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Brandon and Andria Kozma, Aaron Castine, Leslie Calkins and her husband Norman III, and Amanda Young, and his great-granddaughter, Ella Kozma, a brother Laszlo Kozma of Hungary. Many nieces and nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by two sisters: Ibolya Kozma, and Ilona Teszeri.
Funeral Services will be Tuesday (10-14-2014) at the Kidder Funeral Home, 1 Parker Ave., Northfield, Ma. at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. E. Lindsay Carroll of the Brattleboro Church of Christ, will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in West Northfield Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Monday evening (10-13-2014) from 6-8 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
