Nettie B. Bass
LANCASTER, Wis. - Nettie B. Bass, 103, of Lancaster, died early Sunday morning, Oct. 22, 1995, at the Lancaster Care Center.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the United Methodist Church, Lancaster, with the Rev. Glenn Kohlhepp, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Lancaster. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Metcalfe-Kuenster-Page Funeral Home, Lancaster, and after 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
Mrs. Bass and her husband farmed in the Lancaster area for many years. After leaving the farm, she was employed at the Lancaster Hotel and later at Norton's Dry Cleaners.
She was born on April 16, 1892, in South Lancaster Township of Grant County, daughter of George and Annie (Gilberry) Kitelinger. She married Harvey Bass on Feb. 23, 1910, at the Methodist Parsonage in Lancaster; he died on Sept. 11, 1976.
She enjoyed sewing and cooking, playing cards and traveling around the countryside. She was a member of the Chatter and Stitch Club and the United Methodist Church Circle.
Surviving are two daughters, Lela Rech and Virginia Gates, both of Lancaster; and 20 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, 30 great-great-grandchildren and four great-great-step-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by two sons, Walter (and Etha) Bass and Louis (and Mildred) Bass; twin brothers, Frank and Francis Kitelinger; two sisters, Ruby and Ada Kitelinger; a foster sister, Georgia Harback; and a foster brother, Cliff Baker.
