Julia Ann "Julie" Bassett, 1915-2005
Julia "Julie" Ann Bassett, longtime resident of Roseville, died peacefully Saturday morning in her home surrounded by the love of her family. She was 90 years of age.
Julie was born on April 27, 1915 in Roseville, daughter to the late Mrs. and Mrs. Declercq. She was united in marriage to her beloved husband Harold in 1935. The couple resided in Roseville and their union was blessed with three beautifule sons. Julie was a LPN and worked for the Fraser Agency for 20 years doing private home care. She was a member of the Roseville VFW auxiliary for over 50 years. Julie became a member of St. John Lutheran Church in 1963 where she remained very active and in her later years was also involved in the 55+ club. She also was very active in various senior citizens clubs. Julie loved traveling; she was the founder of the Busy Bee Travel Club. She enjoyed sewing, playing the organ, gardening, and playing Euchre and Dominos. Julie was a very lvoing and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who will be deeply missed by the many she has touched in her lifetime.
Julie is survived by her loving sons, Edward (Franses), Leonard, and James (Mary); dearest grandchildren Debra Key Leslie, Rebecca (Don) Ragan, Michael Bassett, Mathew (Trish) Bassett, Gretchen (Phil_ Penhallegon, Nathan (Molly) Bassett, Jeremy (Julie) Bassett, Lori (Greg) Stauffer, and Mark (Nicola); Cherished 19 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harold, on January 31, 1969 and her daughter-in-law Judy.
Visitation will be held in Faulmann & Walsh Golden Rule Funeral Home, 32814 Utica Rd., Fraser on Tuesday from 1pm-9pm. Funeral service will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11am in St. John Lutheran Church, Fraser with a 10am visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John Lutheran Church.
