      Miss Butzer Wed To Charles F. Bessette In Malone Ceremony

      Miss Constance Geraldine Butzer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George A. Butzer, and Charles Floyd Bessette, son of of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd N. Bessette, all of Malone, were married October 27 at Notre Dame Church, Malone.
      The Rev. Louis Gardner officiated at the double ring ceremony.
      Give in marriage by her father, the bride wore a formal gown of Chantilly lace and net and a finger-tip veil attached, to a crown of seeded pearls. She carried a cascade of white pompons.
      Mrs. Elizabeth Bessette, sister-in-law of the bridegroom, was matron of honor. She wore a blue and white polka dot organdy gown and carried pink carnations. Miss Carol Hamilton, cousin of the bridegroom, and Miss Diane Capstraw, cousin of the bride were bridesmaids. They wore mint green lace gowns and carried yellow pompons. Jean Andrews, cousin of the bride, was flower girl. She wore a peach color silk shantung frock and carried basket of yellow and bronze pompons.
      Conrad Butzer, brother of the bride, was best man. Ushers were Robert Bessette, brother of the bridegroom, and Robert LaCombe, uncle of the bride. Brian White, cousin of the bride, was ring bearer.
      The bride’s mother wore a green wool sheath frock with beige accessories and a corsage of bronze and gold pompons. The bridegroom’s mother wore a violet wool sheath frock with brown accessories and a corsage of white pompons.
      Mrs. Mildred White, aunt of the bride, was organist.
      After the ceremony the couple placed red roses in front of the statute of Our Lady of Fatima.
      The wedding breakfast and reception was held at the home of the bride’s grandmother, Mrs. Priscilla Bashaw, Malone.
      Both young people are graduates of Franklin Academy, Malone. They are now residing at North Adams, Mass., where the bridegroom is employed by Pfister Aluminum Company.
      Part of the bridal costumes were made by Mrs. Sylvia Hamilton, aunt of the bridegroom.

      Constance G. Bessette

      Constance G. Bessette, 72, of Elm Street, Malone, died Wednesday, March 18, 2015, at the University of Vermont Medical Center, Burlington, Vermont.

      Born on Aug. 9, 1942, in Malone, New York, she was the daughter of George and Geraldine (Barney) Butzer.

      She was married to Charles F. Bessette Sr. on Oct. 27, 1962, in Notre Dame Church with Msgr. Edmund Dumas officiating. He predeceased her on Nov. 7, 2001.

      Connie lived all her life in Malone. She attended Salmon River Central School until her junior year, when she transferred to Franklin Academy. She graduated with the class of 1961. She was employed by Malone Central School District. She retired in 2002 after 29 years of service. Connie enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her family, friends and especially her grandchildren. She loved traveling, sitting on her front porch and swimming in her pool. She also enjoyed going with the gang to the casino. She always came home and told funny stories about co-workers and the students at the kindergarten center. She lived a happy life.

      She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Charles F. Bessette Jr. of Malone, and Curtis and Lisa Bessette of Lynchburg, Virginia; a daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Stacey Bilow of Malone; 10 grandchildren, Joel (Kelly) Bessette of Radford, Virginia., Aaron Bessette of Chateaugay, Chad Bessette of Malone, Nicole Bessette of Louisville, Georgia, Linda Bessette of Louisville, Georgia, Michael Sullivan of Malone, Matthew Sullivan of Malone, Christopher Bessette of Lynchburg, Virginia, Sullivan Bilow of Malone, and Ian Bessette of Lynchburg, Virginia; a brother and sister-in-law, Conrad and Marylin Butzer of Sackets Harbor; two brothers-in-law and their wives, Robert and Rose Bessette of Massena, and Gerald and Elizabeth Bessette of Malone; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

      Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her parents and a sister in infancy, Linda Ann Butzer.

      Calling hours will be held at the St. Mary-Murphy-Wilcox Funeral Home on Sunday, March 22, from 4 to 6 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 23, in Notre Dame Church.

      Memorial donations may be made to the Malone Callfiremen.

      Spring burial will take place in Notre Dame Cemetery.
