      Services for Helen Ruth Bassett, 92, of Tyler are set for 10 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home with the Reverend Tony Watson officiating. Burial will be in Harris Creek Cemetery.
      Mrs. Bassett passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2011, in Tyler. She was born May 16, 1919, in Winona to the late James Thaddeus and Nellie Estelle Snow Browning. She had lived in Tyler the past forty years, having lived in many cities, including Pleasanton. She was a loving mother, wife and homemaker and was a member of First Baptist Church, Winona. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; a brother Harold Browning, and a sister, Bessie Bennett.
      Survivors include two sons, James A. Bassett of Brenham and Kenneth Bassett of Tyler; two daughters, Charlene Jensen of Plano and Marjorie Breiten of Dallas; two sisters, Pat Prince and Jean Hale both of Tyler; twelve grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
      Pallbearers will be Adam Burt, Nathan Hamilton, Chuck Koehler, Sam Bassett, Lance Luna and Pat Koehler.
      The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday.
      Memorials may be made to The Salvation Army, Red Springs Volunteer Fire Department or Humane Society of Smith County.
