Judy Bingel Married in Lyon Mountain
LYON MOUNTAIN – Mr. and Mrs. William Louis Bessette have established residence at 15 Couch St. in Plattsburgh after returning from a wedding trip to Western New York. Mrs. Bessette is the former Judy Louise Bingel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Bingel of Lyon Mountain. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Bessette of Dannemora.
The double-ring ceremony on Nov. 14 was performed by the Rev. Harold McCabe at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church.
Escorted by her father, the bride approached the altar in an original bridal tafetta gown with peau d’ange lace. The floor-length gown was fashioned with a fitted bodice and scalloped lace bateau neckline encrusted with sequins. The bouffant skirt was shirred and trimmed with lace. A taffeta rose with wide lace ruffles enhanced the front insert and the back of the gown was highlighted by a cathedral train. Her French silk illusion veil fell from a silk tube and pearl crown. She carried a colonial bouquet of white carnations and ivy.
Miss Jeannette Wilson, maid of honor, wore a floor-length gown of viva brocade taffeta with a matching headpiece. Her cascade bouquet was of matching carnations. The bridesmaids were the Misses Sharon Slattery, Anita Bingel and Barbara LaDuke. They wore floor-length gowns of peppermint, parfait and azure brocaded taffeta. Each carried a cascade of matching carnations.
The flower girl, Ann Marie Pageau, wore a floor-length gown of viva brocaded taffeta.
Robert Bessette was his brother’s best man. The ushers were John and Robert Bingel, brothers of the bride, and Richard Bessette, another brother of the bridegroom. Arnold Pavone was the ring bearer.
A reception for 170 guests was held at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Dannemora.
The bride is a graduate of Lyon Mountain High School and The Royal Beauty School in Schenectady. She is employed at Cut-n-Curl Beauty Salon in Plattsburgh.
The bridegroom is a graduate of Saranac Central High School. He served four years in the U.S. Marine Corps and is employed at Sheridan Iron Works in Champlain.
