    Anna Bassett Allen

    (ROANOKE) – Services for Anna Bassett Allen, 94, of Ronake were Sunday, Feb. 3, 2008, at 11 a.m. at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel, with Ray Moon officiating. Burial was in Shadowlawn Cemtetry, LaGrange, Ga.

    Mrs. Allen died Friday, Feb. 1, at Traylor Nursing Home.

    Survivors include three daughters, JoAnn Moon of Roanoke; Peggy Pater of Chicago, Ill., and Martha Smith of LaFayette; 19 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchidlren.

    Pallbearers were Michael Smi9th, Daniel Conger, Michael Duke, David Duke, Derick Fincher and Justin Fincher.

    Mrs. Allen was born Sept. 14, 1913, daughter of James and Nora Padgett Bassett. She was a member of Cragford Methodist Church and had been a textile weaver for Handley Mills. Mrs. Allen was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Allen, and her parents.

    Memorial donations should be made to one’s favorite charity.
