Richard E. Bassette
Richard E. Bassette, 60, of 40 Danbury, previously of Winchendon, Massachusetts, died Saturday afternoon, February 27, 2010 at Danbury Hospital after a life long battle with diabetes. Richard was born in Fitchburg, Massachusetts on June 22, 1949, the son of the late Earl Richard and Gloria H. (Loomis) Bassette and had lived in Danbury for many years. Richard worked as a personnel manager at Caldor Department Store in Norwalk, before illness forced his retirement. He was a 1968 honor graduate of Murdock High School in Winchendon, as well as, Framingham State College. He formerly taught school in Berlin, New Hampshire and Brewster, New York. He leaves several cousins and his closest and dearest friend, Michael Zimmerman. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Winchendon.
