    Herve L. Bessette

    Herve L. Bessette, 74, of 747 Park St., formerly of Chestnut Street, Central Falls, owner of Bessette's Laundry, Central Falls, for 40 years before retiring in 1986, died yesterday at Sturdy Memorial Hospital after being stricken at home. He was the husband of Bernadette (Caouette) Bessette.

    Born in Central Falls, a son of the late Arthur and Adrienne (Morrissette) Bessette, he moved to Attleboro in February.

    Mr. Bessette was a communicant of Notre Dame Church, Central Falls. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Eugene T. Lefebvre Post, VFW, Central Falls, Le Foyer, Pawtucket, the Pawtucket Elks and the the Central Falls Community Center.

    Besides his wife he leaves a son, Gerard Bessette of Winchester, Va.; two daughters, Claire Lockwood of Attleboro and Lorraine Seqeueira of North Attleboro; two sisters, Lillian Dumais of Pawtucket and Jeanne Bourgeois of South Attleboro; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

    The funeral will be held Wednesday at 9 a.m. from the Mortuary of L. Heroux & Son, 20 Ledge St., Central Falls, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 at Notre Dame Church, Broad Street, Central Falls. Burial arrangements are incomplete.

    LILLIAN (BESSETTE) DUMAIS, 82, of 148 Chaplin St., a homemaker, died yesterday at home after an illness.

    She was the wife of the late Louis E. "Pete" Dumais. Born in Central Falls, a daughter of the late Arthur and Adrienne (Morrissette) Bessette, she had lived in Central Falls before moving to Pawtucket in 1960.

    She was a communicant of St. Cecilia Church.

    She leaves a son, Norman L. Dumais Sr. of Pawtucket; two daughters, Sister Joan Dumais, SSJ, of West Hartford, Conn., and Suzanne R. Dumais of Swansea; a sister, Jean Bourgeois of Pawtucket; and three grandsons and two great-grandsons. She was the sister of the late Irene and Herve Bessette, Edna Tetreault and Beatrice Perron.

    The funeral will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. from the Darlington Mortuary of L. Heroux & Son, 1042 Newport Ave., with a Mass of Christian Burial at noon in St. Cecilia Church, Central Avenue. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery.

    NORTH ATTLEBORO - Jeanne G. Bourgeois 94, passed away Tuesday November 13, 2018. She was the beloved wife of the late USAF Chief Master Sergeant Joseph G. Bourgeois.
    Born in Central Falls, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Adrienne (Morrissette) Bessette.
    Jeanne was formerly a resident of Pawtucket and also resided in Texas, Germany, France, Newfoundland, and many stateside residences.
    She is survived by one son Donald Bourgeois of North Attleboro, three grandsons, seven great-grandchildren, one step granddaughter and four step-grandsons. She was the grandmother of the late Joseph Bourgeois and sister of the late Irene Bessette, Edna Tetreault, Beatrice Perron, Lillian Dumais and Herve Bessette.
    The family would like to thank the Nurses at Sturdy Memorial hospital, McCann Wing, room 204 Jenna, Tracyamy, Angelina and Hope Hospice for making her last days comfortable, many thanks, and also the Emt from North Attleboro.
    Her funeral will be held Friday November 16, 2018 from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. from the Darlington Mortuary of L. Heroux & Son 1042 Newport Avenue Pawtucket with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady Queen of Marty's Church Coyle Drive Seekonk MA. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery Daggett Avenue, Pawtucket.
    In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Hope Hospice and Palliative Care Center 1085 North Main Street, Providence R.I. 02904 would be greatly appreciated.

    Doris E. Lafrance

    Doris E. Lafrance, 67, of 19 Main St., died Sunday at Miriam Hospital after a long illness. She was the wife of Gaston "Gus" Lafrance.

    Born in Warwick, a daughter of the late Oliver and Dora (Brais) Bessette, she had lived in the Riverside section of East Providence for 20 years, previously living in Central Falls.

    Mrs. Lafrance was a cloth inspector at Cadillac Textiles Division of Harmony Mills in Pawtucket for many years, retiring ten years ago.

    She was a World War II Army WAC veteran, serving as a clerk in the transportation division.

    Besides her husband she leaves a son, Joseph E. Lafrance, Chief Warrant Officer, U.S. Navy, stationed in Hawaii; four daughters, Lucille St. Jean of Coventry, Pauline Strach of East Providence, Jeanne Dunham of Jennings, La.; Claire Lee of Middletown; a brother, Norman Bessette of Pawtucket; three sisters, Germaine Campbell of Glocester, Eleanor Cotton of Pawtucket, Norma Rodrigues of Cumberland; and seven grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Theresa Lemire of Central Falls.

    Her funeral will be held Friday at 9 a.m. from the Smith-Mason Funeral Home, 398 Willett Ave., with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 in St. Brendan's Church, Turner Ave. Burial will be in Rhode Island Veteran's Cemetery, Exeter.

    COTTON, ELEANOR R. (BESSETTE), 82, passed September 17th surrounded by loving family. She was the wife of William J. Cotton for 57 years.
    She had been a supervisor for Hasbro Industries, Pawtucket for 47 years. Also survived by two daughters, Donna Gargano and her husband John, and Susan Cotton and her wife Terry, a granddaughter, Katelyn Gargano, a sister, Norma Rodrigues and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Doris LaFrance, Peter Bessette, Germaine Campbell, Theresa Lemire and Norman Bessette.
    Funeral Friday, Sept. 22nd at 8:45am in the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave, Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary Church, Pine St, Pawtucket at 10am. Visitation Thursday 4 to 8pm. Memorial gifts to Kindred Hospice (kindredhospice.com) or the Alzheimer?s Association (www.alz.org).

    SIMARD, DORIS T., 96, of Lincoln, passed away Monday, October 2, 2017 with her daughter, son in law and great granddaughter by her side. She was the wife of the late Wilfred E.
    Simard. Born in Pawtucket, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and May Ella
    (Bessette) Armstrong.
    She is survived by her daughter, Paulette E. Pawson and her husband Ronald
    of Cumberland; a great granddaughter, Kelsey Pawson of Lincoln a great, great granddaughter Mackenzie Pawson, several other grand and great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Lorraine Breault and was predeceased by 3 siblings.
    Her funeral will be held on Saturday at 8:45 am from the Lincoln Funeral Home, 1501 Lonsdale Ave., Lincoln with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Jude Church, 301 Front St., Lincoln. Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery, Pawtucket. Calling hours are Friday from 4-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Holiday Patient's Activity Fund would be appreciated.

    BESSETTE, OLIVER 'PETE', 55, of Newport Avenue, Pawtucket, died Monday at home. He was the husband of Michelle (Lebeau) Bessette.

    Born in Central Falls, a son of the late Oliver Bessette and Florence (Marsh) Bessette Emilianowicz, he had resided in Pawtucket for twenty-eight years. He was a communicant of St. Cecilia Church. He was employed as a customer service representative at the Lincoln office of Bank of America. He enjoyed bowing and was involved in Cub Scout activities.

    Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Christian and Sean Bessettem both of Pawtucket, three brothers, Don Bessette of Eugene, Oregon, Steven Bessette of Warwick and Michael Emilianowicz of North Providence, two sisters, Elizabeth Crystal of Myrtle Beach, SC and Jean Cancellieri of North Providence.

    The funeral will be held Thursday at 9:30 AM from the Darlington Mortuary of L. Heroux and Son, 1042 Newport Avenue, Pawtucket followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in St. Cecilia Church, Central Avenue, Pawtucket. Calling hours will be Wednesday 5-8 PM. Burial will be in Mt. St. Mary, Pawtucket.
