CHILDERSBURG - Funeral services for Mamie Marie Bassett Dudney, age 85, will be Wednesday, Oct. 4, at 2 p.m. at Oak Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Max Buttram officiating. Burial will be in Greenhill Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Dudney passed away Monday, Oct. 2, at Coosa Valley Medical Center. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and a wonderful mother. She was a member of the greatest organization on Earth - Motherhood. She was a wife for 65 years. She is survived by her husband, Charles William Dudney of Childersburg; son, William Mitchell Dudney and wife Della Melissa of Childersburg; three daughters, Brenda Minor and husband Bobby, Marie Stewart, and Karen Motes and husband Terrell all of Childersburg; sister, Marion Carr of Birmingham; 11 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. She will lie in state from 1-2 p.m. at the church on Wednesday.
Pallbearers will be Todd Stewart, Chris Gamble, Greg Lightsey, Steve Lightsey, Scott Lightsey, Randy Lightsey, Dustin Studdard, and James Bassett. Curtis and Son Funeral Home Childersburg Chapel will direct the services.
