Sarah Kirby Bassett
(ROANOKE) ? Sarah Kirby Bassett, 60, of Tr. 1, Roanoke, died Wednesday, Jan. 19, 1994, in West Georgia Medical Center, LaGrange, after an extended illness.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 21, at Rock Stand Congregational Christian Church, with Rev. Wayne Cowhick and Rev. Kenneth Perry officiating. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery.
Mrs. Bassett is survived by her husband, Lewis Ed Bassett of Roanoke; one daughter, Mrs. Sarah Ann Messer of Wedowee; four sons, Kirby Bassett, Charles Bassett, Bill Bassett and Pat Bassett, all of Roanoke; one brother, Harmon Kirby of Franklin, Ga.; five grandchildren and four step-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Ford Langley, Earl Kirby, John Harmon, Jeff Napier, Johnathan Henderson and Joey Kirby.
Mrs. Bassett was a native and lifelong resident of Randolph County. She was a homemaker, a seamstress with Palm Beach Company for 35 years and a member of Rock Stand Congregational Church.
Benefield Funeral Home, Wedowee, was in charge of arrangements.
