Luther Bassett
SYLVANIA, Ga. – Funeral services for Luther Bassett, 76, of Sylvania, who died Tuesday at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. W.R. Royal of Thomaston, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday from Antioch Christian Church near here. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Survivors include seven daughters, Mrs. Floyd McBride, Mrs. George McBride, Mrs. Jessie McBride, Miss Reba Bassett, all of Sylvania, Mrs. Ida Waters, Mrs. W.R. Royal, both of Thomaston, Mrs. Bishop Jenkins, Sardis; two sons, Henry Bassett, Sylvania, Curtis Bassett, Millen; five sisters, Mrs. Lelia Taylor, Mrs. Alice Bragg, Miss Vernon Bassett, all of Sylvania, Mrs. Lillian Hughes, Mrs. Yancy Bragg, both of Savannah; three brothers, Tom Bassett, Joe Bassett, John Bassett, all of Sylvania, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Mims McBride, Otis McBride, Jack McBride, Ward McBride, Russell Waters and Douglas Bassett.
Honorary pallbearers include A.A. Waters, Winton Pierce, Stanton Pierce, R.D. Sharp, Fred Chance and Hoke McBride.
