Shirley Bassett
Shirley Bassett, 78, went to be with the Lord on November 12, 2014. Memorial services will be held Saturday, November 15, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at Crestview Baptist Church. Shirley was born on December 11, 1935 to Cavin and Faye Freeman in Cross Plains, Texas. She married the love of her life, Jim Bassett, on August 18, 1956. Shirley held her Texas Real Estate license and worked with husband Jim, operating Bassett Properties for several years. She was a loyal, enthusiastic member of Crestview Baptist Church. She loved Crestview and all her church family. She is survived by one daughter, Sherri Bassett and husband, Rick Pearson, of Austin; one sister-in-law, Barbara Callaway and husband, Rodney Callaway, of Cross Plains; one niece and nephew; several cousins; and a host of friends that mourn her loss and will miss her greatly. Shirley will be remembered as a servant of God, a devoted mother and wife and a special friend who loved unconditionally. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Crestview Baptist Church, 301 N Loop 250 W, Midland, Texas 79703.
