Dorothy Hilton (Picture included)
Dorothy Hilton LUBBOCK-Dorothy Peeler Hilton of Lubbock passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2017, at the age of 99. She was born July 22, 1917, in Robert Lee, Texas, and grew up in Clyde. Dorothy was a member of the Lubbock Bible Church and supported the ministry of First Baptist Church in Idalou where her son ministers. She married Lelton Hilton and together they raised eight children. During World War II, she entered the work force modifying war planes and became a Rosie the Riveter. At the age of ten Dorothy had a heart for the ministry and carried that forward in all she did. She had a passion to share the Gospel and developed a bible walk-through program to help teach the Word to prospective believers. She and Lelton started the Alpha Omega Tape Ministry which was shared all around the world. After his death in 1991, she became involved with Exodus Prison Ministry where she printed more than one million pages for books. Dorothy had a heart for Israel. She had one primary focus in all she did Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Beverly Mason, Randy Hilton, Philip Hilton and wife, Robbie, Carla Hilton, David Hilton and wife, Lisa, Jenny Bayliss and husband, Rodney, and Sonja Vaden and husband, Tim; 18 grandchildren; as well as numerous great and great-great-grandchildren. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband; one son, H.B. Bassett, Jr.; and four siblings. Memorial services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017, at First Baptist Church in Idalou.
