James F. “Jim” Bassett (includes picture)
On Friday, February 13, 2009, Jim went to be with his Lord, surrounded by his family and friends.
He was born on December 24, 1933, in Cisco, Texas and was the son of Louise (Petty) and Herschel Bassett. He married Shirley Freeman on August 18, 1956.
Jim is survived by his wife, Shirley, of Midland; one daughter, Sherri Bassett, and husband Rick Pearson, of Austin; and his sister, Barbara Callaway and husband Rodney, of Cross Plains.
Memorial services will be held Monday, February 16, 2009 at 5:00 P.M. at Crestview Baptist Church with Rev. Ty Morris, officiating, and Tuesday, February 17, 2009, at 2:30 P.M. at Higginbotham Funeral home in Cross Plains, with Rev. Bennie Hagan, officiating.
Jim graduated from Cisco High School and Cisco Junior College. His career was 25 years with Employers Insurance Company and later as a Real Estate Broker. He was a longstanding member of Crestview Baptist Church where he was faithful to the Lord.
