He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred W. and Gladys Bassett. He is survived by his wife, Ellen Kirby Bassett of over 60 years; daughter, Karen Bassett; son, Rick Bassett; daughter-in-law, Michelle (Mickie) Bassett; granddaughter, Kaycee Landrum; grandson-in-law, Austin Landrum and great-granddaughter, Kamzie Mae Landrum. He is also survived by his brother, Fred A. (Pete) Bassett along with many other relatives. Truman honorably served his country in the Army from 1957 to 1960. He worked for many years in the building materials field before retiring. Truman loved his family deeply. The family is at peace knowing he is now with Our Lord and Savior. The family will receive friends Sunday, March 13, 2022, from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. EST at McKoon Funeral Home 38 Jackson Street Newnan, GA 30263. The graveside service will be Sunday, March 13, 2022, at 4 p.m. CT at Randolph Memory Gardens in Roanoke, AL. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.mckoon.com.
