Mary Bassett
EAST DUBLIN - Services for Mary Bassett will be at 10 a.m. today in East Dublin Baptist Church with burial at 3:30 p.m., central time, in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Roanoke, Ala. Bassett, 87, died Monday, April 23, 2001. Daughter of the late Sarah and George W. Barsh, she was a homemaker and member of East Dublin Baptist Church. She was the widow of Leon F. Bassett. Survivors include her children Sara Pendergrass, George Bassett Sr., Martha Pollard, all of East Dublin, Lynda Anderson of Jacksonville, Fla. Dr. Frederick Bassett of Hilton Head, S.C., Paul Bassett and Joan Ray, both of Macon, Kathy Roberts of Roanoke and John Bassett Sr. of Dublin; 28 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to any children's home. Townsend Brothers Funeral home, Dublin, has charge of arrangements.

Mary Izora Barsh Bassett
(East Dublin, Ga.) Services for Mary Izora Bassett, 87, of East Dublin, Ga., will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 25, 2001, at East Dublin Baptist Church, with burial in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemeter, Roanoke, at 3:30 p.m. CDT. Dr. Keith Tipton, the Rev. Ronnie Powell, Dr. Frederick Bassett and Michael Bassett will officiate.
Mrs. Bassett died Monday, April 23, at her home.
Mrs. Bassett was a native of Randolph county, Ala., daughter of the late Sarah Obela Veal Barsh and the late George Washington Barsh. She was a member of East Dublin Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her daughters, Rhoda Jane Bassett and Dianne B. Avery. She was a homemaker and was the widow of the late Leon Frederick Bassett.
Survivors include nine children, Sara B. Pendergrass, George A. Bassett and Martha B. Pollard of East Dublin, Dr. Frederick W. Bassett of Hilton Head, S.C., Lynda B. Anderson of Jacksonville, Fla., Paul M. Bassett and Joan B. Ray of Macon, Ga., Kathy B. Roberts of Roanoke and John M. Bassett Sr. of Dublin, Ga.; 28 grandchildren; 27 greatgrandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a children's home of the contributor's choice in memory of Mrs. Bassett.
