  Notes	The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, 12 Feb 2008 Gordon Bassett BASSETT, Gordon C., aged 79, of Doraville, died Monday February 11, 2008. The funeral will be at 7 P.M. Wednesday February 13, 2008 at Bill Head Funeral Home, Lilburn/Tucker Chapel, with Mrs. Susan Rumble officiating. Burial will be at 11 A.M. CST. Thursday at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Roanoke, AL. A native of Randolph County, Alabama, Mr. Bassett was retired as an auto parts manager. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lilburn. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jennie Bassett of Doraville; son, Phillip R. Bassett of Lilburn; daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie & Rich Harrison of Snellville and Janis & Raymond Smallwood of Dallas, GA; son and daughter-in-law, James & Elizabeth Bassett of Snellville; brother, Travis (Pete) Bassett of Lakeland, FL; sisters, Viola Thomas Bassett of Roanoke, AL; ten grandchildren and one great grandchild. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 45455, Atlanta, GA 30343, or to a charity of your choice. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5-7 P.M. at Bill Head Funeral Homes and Crematory, Lilburn/Tucker Chapel. (770) 564-2726.
