    • Amos and Olive Bassett resided at Westquantock (Seymour) in a house on the Housatonic River Road, at the corner of the road that runs to the top of Great Hill. Amos Bassett took a very active part in raising and clothing soldiers during the Revolutionary War. He was one of the first deacons of the Congregational Church on Great Hill. He was considered one of Derby's best citizens.
