      Mrs. Dorothy Agor Bassett, 55, of Tomahawk Road, Baldwin Place, died Tuesday morning, August 4, 1959 in the Northern Westchester Hospital, Mount Kisco. She was the widow of the late Clayton L. Bassett. Mrs. Bassett had been ill for two weeks prior to her admittance to the hospital.
      She was born in Mahopac, July 1, 1904, the daughter of the late William and Helen Arnold Agor and resided in Mahopac and Balwin Place all her life. On her paternal side she was a member of a family that settled in Mahopac before 1800 and on her maternal side she was a member of an old Quaker New York State family.
      When a young woman she was united in marriage with Clayton L. Bassett, who operated a hardware store at Baldwin Place for a few years before becoming a member of the Sheriff’s staff of Westchester county. His death occurred in August, 1958.
      Mrs. Bassett was a member of the Somers Women’s Club, the Mahopac Falls Presbyterian Church and the Yorktown Grange.
      Surviving are a son, C. David Bassett, of Wadsworth, Ohio; a daughter, Mrs. Marjorie (John G.) Foulkes, of Yorktown Heights; a brother, Albert Agor of Fort Lauderdale, Florida and an aunt, Mrs. Caroline Gilchrist of North Salem, and two grandchildren.
      Funeral services were held from the Clark Funeral Home, Katonah, this Thursday afternoon, at 2 o’clock. The family requested that flowers be omitted and that donations be made to the Mahopac Hospital Building Fund. Interment was made in Ivandale Cemetery, Somers.
