Bassett, died Saturday (May 11) at Rockville General Hospital. She was born in Lowell, Massachusetts, and was an Ellington resident for most of her life. Mrs. Bassett was an Avon representative for over 40 years. She is survived by her sons, Ernest Bassett of Ellington, Louis Bassett of Clarksville, Tennessee; her daughter, Leona Miner of Ellington; 17 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be Monday, 10 a.m. in the Ellington Congregational Church. Burial will be Ellington Center Cemetery. Friends may call at the Burke-Fortin Funeral Home, 76 Prospect St., Rockville, today, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 237 East Center St., Manchester, Connecticut 06040.
